JW Law was established by Julia Wylie in 2001 with the aim of providing practical, commercial legal advice to charities and businesses at a reasonable cost. JW Law works almost entirely for charities, including the RSPCA and WWF-UK. Julia is an NCVO Approved Consultant 2003/04 and a member of the Charity Law Association.
Having worked in-house at the RSPCA’s busy Legal Department, Julia is only too aware of the legal issues that charities have to contend with. At the RSPCA, Julia was responsible for the charity’s commercial legal requirements, and worked particularly closely with the RSPCA’s Fundraising and Information Services Departments.
Julia aims to ensure that
her charity client’s commercial interests are protected just as well (if not
better) than those of the commercial companies that they deal with. With charities
working increasingly with companies, whether as part of commercial fundraising
ventures, or as purchasers of goods and services, it is essential that charities
obtain good quality commercial legal advice.
